Halifax Gamblers Anonymous meets every Wednesday at 7.30pm at The Basement Recovery Project on Carlton Street, running for two hours. It is an open meeting, so anyone is welcome, including family members, friends and professionals, as well as people with a desire to stop gambling. The group also serves the nearby Elland area. Gamblers Anonymous follows a twelve-step programme, and meetings typically combine members sharing their own experience of gambling and recovery with mutual support and GA literature. There is no cost to attend and no need to register beforehand; you can simply arrive shortly before half past seven and take a seat. Newcomers are especially encouraged to come along, whether they are early in considering a change or have been thinking about it for some time.
