Every Saturday at 9.30am, the Glasgow South Saturday Group meets in the Billiard Room at the Pearce Institute on Govan Road. This is an Overeaters Anonymous gathering for anyone who has a desire to stop eating compulsively, and as an open meeting it also welcomes family, friends and anyone curious about how the fellowship works. The format varies week to week, so you'll find a bit of variety across shares, readings and discussion. Getting to the room involves taking the lift to the first floor followed by eight stairs, so worth knowing before you arrive. Do note the venue closes on public holidays. Starting your morning here means being among people who understand, without judgement or pressure to speak.
Who can come to this meeting?
This is an open Overeaters Anonymous meeting, so anyone is welcome, including family, friends and professionals. If you have a desire to stop eating compulsively, you belong here. There's no obligation to talk until you feel ready.
Do I need to book or pay?
No. OA meetings are free to attend and there's no booking required. Just turn up on Saturday morning. The fellowship is self-supporting through members' own voluntary contributions, so a small donation may be passed round, but it's entirely optional.
How do I reach the meeting room?
The Billiard Room is on the first floor. It can be accessed by lift followed by eight stairs. The venue is closed on public holidays, so check dates around bank holidays before setting out.
