The Fenland Thursday Group brings Overeaters Anonymous together each week in the centre of Ely, meeting at the Lighthouse on Lynn Road. Every Thursday evening at 7pm, people gather to share their experience of recovery from compulsive eating and to support one another using the twelve-step approach. This is a members' meeting, held for those with a desire to stop eating compulsively, so it offers a settled, familiar group where regulars come to know one another over time. The meeting runs in English. If you're new to OA and finding your way, you can reach Sammy beforehand with any questions. Ely town centre is well served for those travelling in, and the venue sits on Lynn Road at postcode CB7 4EG.
Who can attend this meeting?
This is a members' meeting, sometimes called a closed meeting. It is for people who have a desire to stop eating compulsively. If that describes you, you are welcome to come along. Meetings that are open to family, friends and professionals are held separately.
Do I need to book or pay anything?
No. There is no booking and no charge to attend. Overeaters Anonymous has no dues or fees. Groups cover their own costs through voluntary contributions from members, but nobody is asked to give anything, especially newcomers.
How can I find out more before I go?
You can contact Sammy ahead of the meeting if you have questions about attending or what to expect. The meeting is held in English at the Lighthouse, 13 Lynn Rd, Ely, CB7 4EG, on Thursday evenings at 7pm.
