Families Anonymous Southport

On the first and third Sundays of each month, Families Anonymous meets in Southport at 3.30pm, for an hour and a half, at the Station Master's House in Birkdale. Because the meeting runs twice monthly rather than weekly, it's worth checking the date lines up before you travel. It's a group for family and friends whose lives have been affected by a loved one's drug use or related behavioural problems, and there's no need to bring that person along; many attend entirely alone. Drawing on the twelve steps, members work through their own experience and find some support from others who understand the same worry and frustration. The meeting is open to anyone in this position, free to attend, and there is no requirement to book a place beforehand.
