About this meeting

Families Anonymous Barnstaple meets on the second and fourth Monday of each month at 5pm at The Castle Centre. It's a fellowship for families and friends concerned about a loved one's use of drugs or related behavioural problems, giving parents, partners, siblings and friends a space to talk about the effect this has had on their own lives. The meeting is open to anyone in that position, and there is no need to bring the person whose use is causing concern; many members attend entirely on their own. Sessions run for an hour and a half, twice a month rather than weekly, so it's worth noting the meeting only falls on those two Mondays. Newcomers are welcome to attend without any referral.

Common questions

Do I have to bring the person I'm concerned about?

No, Families Anonymous Barnstaple is for you, in your own right. Many people attend without the person whose use concerns them ever being there.

Does this meeting happen every week?

No, it meets on the second and fourth Monday of each month, not weekly, so it's worth checking the dates.

Is there a cost to attend?

No, it's free and there's no need to book, just come to The Castle Centre for 5pm.

Going to your first meeting?

Walking into a room for the first time is the hardest step. Foundations, our plain-language introduction to recovery, was written for exactly this moment — what to expect, what the Steps mean, and how to begin.
