The Edinburgh and Midlothian Tuesday Group meets each Tuesday at 7pm in St Catharine's Convent on Lauriston Gardens, just south of the city centre near Tollcross. This is an Overeaters Anonymous meeting for anyone who shares a desire to stop eating compulsively, and it runs as a hybrid gathering, so you can join in the room or dial in via Zoom if getting there is difficult. As an open meeting, it welcomes not only members but family, friends and professionals who want to understand how OA works. The format follows the familiar twelve-step approach, with members sharing their own experience of the programme. There is no need to speak or share until you are ready. Gail is the local contact for meeting details and the Zoom link.
Who can come along to this meeting?
This is an open Overeaters Anonymous meeting, so anyone is welcome. That includes people who think they may eat compulsively, as well as family members, friends and professionals who want to learn more about how OA works.
Do I need to book or pay anything?
No booking is needed and there is no charge to attend. OA is self-supporting through members' own voluntary contributions, so a basket may be passed for room costs, but newcomers are never expected to give anything.
Can I join online instead of in person?
Yes. This is a hybrid meeting run both in the room at St Catharine's Convent and over Zoom, so you can take part remotely if travelling to Lauriston Gardens isn't possible. Contact Gail for the Zoom joining details.
