Derby's Friday evening meeting takes place at Ashbourne Road Methodist Church, 94 Ashbourne Road, starting at 7.30pm and lasting an hour and a half. It is a closed Alcoholics Anonymous meeting, meaning it is reserved for people who have a desire to stop drinking; if you want to stop, you are welcome to walk in with no referral, whether it is your first meeting or you are returning after time away. The church is wheelchair accessible, and the group operates a chit system, so attendance slips can be signed for court, probation or treatment requirements. There is no charge and no booking, and first names are all anyone will ask of you.
