Every Thursday at 8pm, Gamblers Anonymous meets at West Croydon Baptist Church on Whitehorse Road in Croydon. As an open meeting, it welcomes anyone, including those close to a gambler and professionals working in the field, not only people with a desire to stop gambling themselves. The fellowship’s sole membership requirement is a desire to stop gambling, but because the meeting is open, that requirement does not apply to visitors, family or friends. It lasts an hour and a half. There’s no need to book, just turn up. Anonymity is a core part of Gamblers Anonymous, so what’s discussed at the meeting is not shared outside it.
