About this meeting

Reader's Choice is a closed AA meeting in the village of Cosby, south of Leicester, meeting on Thursdays at 7.30pm at Cosby Methodist Church on Park Road for an hour and a half. Closed means it is for people who have a desire to stop drinking, so if that describes you, you are welcome regardless of whether you have been to AA before. Access to the meeting is through the double gates on the right-hand side of the church, leading into the car park. The venue is wheelchair accessible, and a chit system is available for anyone needing signed evidence of attendance for court, probation or treatment. It is free and there is no need to book.

Common questions

What does a closed meeting mean here?

It means the meeting is for people who have a desire to stop drinking, which is AA's only requirement. Newcomers wanting help for themselves are very welcome; family or friends would be better suited to an open meeting.

How do I find the entrance?

Access is through the double gates on the right-hand side of the church, into the car park. The venue is wheelchair accessible.

Is it free, and can attendance be evidenced?

Yes, the meeting is free with no booking needed. A chit system is available, so an attendance slip can be signed for court, probation or a treatment programme.
