About this meeting
Cobh Thursday is a weekly Al-Anon Family Groups meeting at 7pm at Cobh Community Centre, Kilgarvan, using the Girl Guides entrance on Orilia Terrace, Co. Cork. Al-Anon is for people whose lives have been affected by someone else's drinking, including partners, parents, adult children and friends, rather than for the person who drinks. It is an open meeting, so anyone with an interest, including a newcomer, is welcome without needing to contact the group beforehand. The meeting lasts an hour. There is no charge and no booking required; those attending should look out for the Girl Guides entrance at the community centre and arrive a little before 7pm.
Common questions
Can I come without the drinker knowing I've gone to Al-Anon?
Yes. The meeting is for you, and there is no requirement to tell the person whose drinking has affected you that you are attending.
Is there a cost, and do I need to book a place?
No. Like all Al-Anon meetings, it is free to attend and there is no booking system; you can simply come along on the day.
Which entrance should I use?
Use the Girl Guides block entrance at Cobh Community Centre on Orilia Terrace.
