About this meeting

Co-Anon Reading meets on Monday evenings from 7 to 8.30pm at Emmanuel Church in Woodley, on the outskirts of Reading. Co-Anon is for family members and friends affected by someone else's cocaine or other substance addiction, rather than for the person using themselves, so you do not need to bring the person you are concerned about, or even have their agreement to attend. Many members come entirely on their own behalf, seeking support and understanding from others in a similar position. As an open meeting, it welcomes anyone in that situation, whether new to Co-Anon or a long-standing member of the fellowship, and the session runs for an hour and a half.

Common questions

Do I need to bring the person whose substance use I'm concerned about?

No. Co-Anon is for you, as someone affected by another person's addiction, and many members attend entirely on their own without the other person present or even aware.

Is there a cost to attend?

No, it is free, and there is no need to book a place beforehand.

Where exactly is the meeting held?

At Emmanuel Church in Woodley, on the outskirts of Reading, on Monday evenings from 7pm.

Walking into a room for the first time is the hardest step. Foundations, our plain-language introduction to recovery, was written for exactly this moment — what to expect, what the Steps mean, and how to begin.
