Peacehaven's Wednesday night Big Book study brings Alcoholics Anonymous to the coast east of Brighton. The meeting runs from 7.30pm for an hour and a quarter at Peacehaven Evangelical Free Church Hall, with the entrance on Mayfield Avenue. As a Big Book meeting, it works through Alcoholics Anonymous, the text the fellowship is built on, reading a passage and sharing on it, which makes it particularly useful for anyone wanting to understand the programme rather than just hear stories. It is an open meeting, so family, friends and professionals are welcome alongside people who want to stop drinking. Wheelchair access has not been confirmed. Attendance is free, and there is no booking, referral or paperwork of any kind.
Do I need my own copy of the Big Book?
No. The group reads together at the meeting and copies are generally available there. Coming along and listening is all that is needed to start.
Who can attend?
Anyone. It is an open meeting, welcoming newcomers, family members, friends and professionals. The only requirement for AA membership is a desire to stop drinking.
How do I find the entrance?
Use the entrance on Mayfield Avenue (BN10 8RE) for Peacehaven Evangelical Free Church Hall. Wheelchair access has not been confirmed, so check with AA beforehand if that is important for you.
