Al-Anon Bournemouth meets every Thursday at 7.45pm at the Salvation Army's BH1 Project on Palmerston Road in Boscombe. It's an open meeting for anyone whose life is or has been affected by someone else's drinking, whether that's a partner, parent, adult child, sibling or friend. Members come together to talk about their own experience, rather than the person drinking, and no one needs to have any connection to Alcoholics Anonymous to attend. There's no requirement to have been to an Al-Anon meeting before, and newcomers can arrive without warning or introduction. The meeting gives people in the Bournemouth and Boscombe area a regular, confidential space to be heard by others who understand what they are going through.
