Bolton Hall'ithwood meets on Tuesday evenings at 7.30pm at Green Way Community Centre on Green Way, in the north of Bolton, and runs for an hour and a half. The group takes its name from the historic Hall i' th' Wood area nearby. This is a closed meeting, which means it is intended for people who have a desire to stop drinking, whether they have years of sobriety or walked away from their last drink an hour ago. The same group holds an open meeting at this venue on Thursdays for anyone who wants to bring a supporter. The community centre is listed as wheelchair accessible, and the meeting is free with no need to book.
What does 'closed' mean for this meeting?
It means attendance is for people who have, or think they may have, a desire to stop drinking. It is not a private or members-only club; any newcomer who is worried about their drinking is welcome.
Is there an open meeting at this venue?
Yes. The same group meets at Green Way Community Centre on Thursdays at 7.30pm, and that meeting is open to everyone, including family and friends.
Do I need to pay or book?
No. Just arrive before 7.30pm on Tuesday. AA meetings are free, supported only by voluntary contributions from members.
