A straightforward discussion meeting, Beckenham Discussion runs on Tuesday evenings from 8pm to 9.30pm at the Methodist Church on Bromley Road. Members share their experience around whatever is raised on the night, which makes for a varied, conversational meeting where a newcomer can simply sit and listen. It is open to all, including husbands, wives, parents, friends and anyone with a professional reason to attend. It is free, and nobody needs to book or be referred. Wheelchair access at the church has not been confirmed. If Tuesdays are difficult, Beckenham has further meetings on Wednesday and Thursday evenings each week.
Will I have to speak at the meeting?
No. Nobody is required to share, and plenty of people spend their first few meetings just listening. When you do want to speak, you will be given the space.
Can family members attend with me?
Yes. Beckenham Discussion is an open AA meeting, so family, friends and professionals are all welcome, and it is free with no booking.
Is the venue wheelchair accessible?
Access has not been confirmed at the Methodist Church on Bromley Road, so check ahead if this matters to you.
