On Wednesday evenings, Ballyfermot Harmony Group holds a Big Book meeting at 8pm, again at The Resource Centre on Lynch's Lane off Ballyfermot Road in Dublin 10. The Big Book format means the session centres on reading and discussing passages from Alcoholics Anonymous, the fellowship's core text, alongside the Tuesday Steps meeting held at the same venue. As a closed meeting it is intended for those with a desire to stop drinking rather than being open to the wider public. Attendance costs nothing and nobody needs to register or give notice beforehand. For those unable to attend in person, the group also runs an online option, with the link available by emailing the group ahead of time. Wheelchair access to the venue has not been confirmed.
What happens at the Wednesday Big Book meeting?
Members read and discuss passages from the Alcoholics Anonymous Big Book together, as opposed to the Steps format used on Tuesdays at the same venue.
Is this meeting open to the public?
No, it is closed, meaning it is for people with a desire to stop drinking rather than family members or observers.
Do I need to book ahead?
No. There is no booking and no cost, as with every AA meeting held at The Resource Centre.
