Every Friday at 2.30pm, Al-Anon Family Groups meets at Unit 13, Moyle Enterprise Centre, on Leyland Road in Ballycastle, Co. Antrim. The group is aimed at those whose lives have been affected by another person's drinking, including partners, parents and adult children. Being an open meeting, it is welcoming to newcomers as well as those who have attended Al-Anon before. Sessions last roughly an hour and a half; there is no cost and no need to book, and the person who drinks does not need to be there. Newcomers are welcome without any need to get in touch beforehand.

Common questions

Is this meeting only for people who drink themselves?

No. Al-Anon is for relatives and friends whose lives have been affected by another person's drinking. As this is an open meeting, anyone in that position, including first-time visitors, is welcome.

Do I have to bring the person whose drinking is affecting me?

No. The meeting is for you, in your own right, and many people attend on their own without the person who drinks ever coming along.

Is there a cost to attend, and do I need to book a place?

Al-Anon meetings are free and there is no need to book. Just arrive for the start time of 2.30pm on Fridays.
