About this meeting

Aviemore's Al-Anon group meets on the second Monday of each month at 2pm, running for two hours at St Andrew's Church Hall on Grampian Road. It is for anyone whose life is, or has been, affected by someone else's drinking: partners, parents, adult children, friends and others who have felt the impact of a relative's or friend's drinking, whether or not that person is in recovery. The meeting is open, so newcomers are welcome without having attended before, and you do not need to bring the person whose drinking concerns you; many members come on their own. Set in the Cairngorms and covering the Boat of Garten area, it offers a place to talk in confidence and hear how others have coped. There is no cost and no need to book; just arrive shortly before 2pm.

Do I have to bring the person whose drinking is affecting me?

No. Al-Anon is for you, in your own right, whatever is happening with the other person. Many members attend on their own and never bring the relative or friend whose drinking concerns them.

Is there a cost or do I need to book?

No, it's free to attend and there's no need to book a place. Just arrive a little before 2pm.
