About this meeting

The ACA Women's Meeting takes place online every Thursday at 7.30pm, UK and Ireland time, giving women a regular space to talk about growing up with a parent's drinking or other family dysfunction and how it has shaped their adult lives. Sharing is open, with no set topic imposed each week, so conversation can move wherever members need it to go. It is an open meeting, meaning women exploring whether the Adult Children of Alcoholics experience fits their own story are welcome alongside long-standing members, and friends or professionals with an interest in the fellowship may also listen in. Newcomers are never expected to speak and can simply follow the conversation for as long as they wish.

Common questions

Do I have to have grown up with an alcoholic parent to attend?

Adult Children of Alcoholics also welcomes those affected by other forms of family dysfunction, not only alcoholism specifically. As an open meeting, friends and professionals may also listen in.

Will I be asked to share?

No. You can listen for as many meetings as you like before saying anything.

Is the meeting free?

Yes, it is free with no booking required. Joining details are on ACA's own meeting page.
