No dogs. No vaping.
Midweek, the Pokesdown Multi-Mtg meets on Wednesday evenings at St James Church, Christchurch Road, Pokesdown, on the east side of Bournemouth. The meeting starts at 7.45pm and runs for an hour and a quarter. It is a closed Alcoholics Anonymous meeting, which is simply AA's way of saying it is reserved for people who have a desire to stop drinking; you do not need to have attended before, and nobody will quiz you at the door. If you want a version of this meeting that friends or family can attend too, the same group holds an open meeting on Fridays at the same time and venue. St James Church has wheelchair access, and the house rules ask for no dogs and no vaping.
What's the difference between this and the Friday meeting?
Same group, same venue and time, but Wednesday is a closed meeting for people who want to stop drinking, while Friday is open to family, friends and professionals as well.
Does it cost anything to attend?
No. AA meetings are free and there is no booking system. Just arrive at St James Church for 7.45pm.
Is the venue wheelchair accessible?
Yes. Note that dogs are not allowed and vaping is not permitted.
