Witham Big Book Recovery closes the weekend with a Sunday evening study of Alcoholics Anonymous, the Big Book that gave the fellowship its name and sets out its programme of recovery. The meeting runs from 6pm to 7.30pm at the Methodist Church, 35 Guithavon Street, in the centre of Witham. It is an open meeting, so anyone is welcome, whether you have a desire to stop drinking, are supporting someone who does, or are a professional wanting to understand the approach. The church is wheelchair accessible. Reading-based meetings suit people who like structure, and the Big Book's mix of instruction and personal stories gives every week something to talk about. It is free and unbooked.
Do I need my own copy of the Big Book?
No. Meetings provide the reading, and you can follow along without owning anything. If you decide you want a copy later, the group can point you to one.
