Chit system available. Last Mon each month is a Tradtions meeting.
Sale 2 is a long-running Monday night Alcoholics Anonymous meeting at Sale Moor Methodist Church, 303 Northenden Road, starting at 8pm and lasting an hour and a half. It is a closed meeting, meaning it is kept for people with a desire to stop drinking, or those questioning their drinking, and newcomers in that position can simply walk in. Two practical points are worth knowing. The group runs a chit system, so attendance slips can be signed for court, probation or treatment purposes. And on the last Monday of each month the format changes to a Traditions meeting, studying the principles that hold AA groups together. The church is wheelchair accessible.
Can I get my attendance signed for court or probation?
Yes. Sale 2 operates a chit system, so bring your paperwork and a member will sign to confirm you attended, whether that is for court, probation or a treatment programme.
Who can attend, and is there a cost?
It is a closed AA meeting, for anyone who has, or thinks they may have, a desire to stop drinking. It is free and no booking is needed; just arrive before 8pm on Monday.
Is the format the same every week?
Mostly, though the last Monday of each month is a Traditions meeting, looking at the principles that guide AA groups. The venue is wheelchair accessible.
