Chit system available.
Rugby's Thursday night Alcoholics Anonymous meeting takes place at 8pm in John Lees Hall at Rugby Baptist Church, Regent Place, in the middle of town. It is an open meeting running for an hour and a half, which means anyone can attend: people who want to stop drinking, relatives, friends, and professionals wanting to see AA at first hand. The hall is wheelchair accessible. A chit system is available, so attendance slips can be signed for court, probation or treatment requirements. Like all AA meetings it costs nothing and needs no booking; you can walk in on the night, sit at the back and just listen if that feels more comfortable.
Do I have to speak at the meeting?
No. You can simply sit and listen. Nobody is required to share, and many newcomers say nothing at all for their first few meetings.
Who can come, and what does it cost?
Anyone; it is an open meeting, welcoming family, friends and professionals as well as people who want to stop drinking. It is free with no booking.
Is the venue accessible, and are chits signed?
Yes. John Lees Hall is wheelchair accessible, and a chit system is available for court, probation or treatment attendance evidence.
