Pathfinder Three Speaker meets on Saturdays at 7pm at Horfield Methodist Church, Churchways Avenue, following straight on from the 6pm Pathfinder Newcomers meeting in the same building. The format features three speakers in an hour, so you hear a range of drinking histories and recoveries in one sitting, which many people find more relatable than a single story. It is an open Alcoholics Anonymous meeting: anyone with a desire to stop drinking is welcome, and so are family members, friends and professionals. The church is wheelchair accessible. Attending both Pathfinder meetings back to back gives a newcomer nearly two hours of support on a Saturday evening, right when it is often needed.
What happens at a three speaker meeting?
Three members in turn share their experience of drinking and recovery. There is no obligation for anyone else to speak, so you can simply listen.
Who can attend?
Anyone. It is an open meeting, welcoming people with a desire to stop drinking as well as family, friends and professionals.
Is there wheelchair access, and does it cost anything?
Yes, the church is wheelchair accessible, and like all AA meetings it is free with no need to book.
