Every Sunday at 5pm, Polish speakers in Bristol gather for Przyjaciele Billa W, a Polish-language Alcoholics Anonymous meeting at the Polish Roman Catholic Church of the Matka Boska Ostrobramska on Cheltenham Road. The meeting runs for an hour and the whole thing is held in Polish, so it suits anyone who would rather talk about recovery in their first language. It is an open meeting, meaning family, friends and professionals are welcome to sit in as well as anyone with a desire to stop drinking. Attendance chits can be signed here for court, probation or treatment evidence. If Sunday does not suit, the same group meets on Thursdays at 7pm at the same church.
