About this meeting

Every Wednesday at 7pm, Staplehurst Big Book Study meets at Staplehurst Free Church on Station Road, in the village of Staplehurst in Kent. The hour-long meeting works through Alcoholics Anonymous, the book universally known in the fellowship as the Big Book, reading a passage and then sharing on it; it is a solid choice if you want to understand where AA's programme of recovery actually comes from. This is an open meeting, so anyone may attend, including family members, friends and professionals as well as people concerned about their own drinking. Nobody will put you on the spot, and listening is always fine. There is no charge and no booking, and wheelchair access at the church has not been confirmed for this meeting.

Common questions

Can I bring a family member or friend with me?

Yes. Staplehurst Big Book Study is an open AA meeting, so family, friends and anyone else with an interest are welcome to attend alongside people who have a desire to stop drinking.

How much does it cost and do I need to book?

Nothing at all, and no booking is needed. Just turn up at Staplehurst Free Church on Station Road shortly before 7pm on Wednesday. A voluntary collection is taken but contributing is entirely optional.

Do I need my own copy of the Big Book?

No. The group reads from the book during the meeting and copies are generally available to share or buy at cost, so you can simply come along and follow the reading.
