Luton Stopsley Big Book meets on Monday evenings at 7pm at Wigmore Church & Community Centre on Crawley Green Road in Stopsley, on the east side of Luton, and lasts an hour and a quarter. The group studies the Big Book, the basic text of Alcoholics Anonymous, reading a passage and discussing how it applies to everyday sobriety. It is an open meeting, which means family members, friends and professionals are welcome alongside anyone with a desire to stop drinking, and no familiarity with the book is needed. The community centre is wheelchair accessible. There is nothing to pay and nothing to book; simply arrive shortly before 7pm.
Do I need to have read the Big Book?
No. The group reads together during the meeting and newcomers are welcome whether or not they have ever seen the book.
Can I bring a family member or friend?
Yes. It is an open meeting, so people supporting someone else, and professionals, are welcome to attend.
