Chester-Le-Street Multi-Mtg Step

The Wednesday session at Chester-le-Street's Community Centre on Newcastle Road, opposite the Civic Centre, is a step meeting: each week the discussion works around one of AA's Twelve Steps. It starts at 7.30pm and lasts an hour. This is a closed meeting, meaning it is reserved for people who have a desire to stop drinking or who think they might - a category that very much includes first-timers. Anyone coming purely to support or observe should try the group's open meetings at the same venue on Thursdays and Sundays. The community centre is wheelchair accessible, and the meeting is free with no booking or paperwork required.
