Buxton

Buxton's Monday night Alcoholics Anonymous meeting is held at St Anne's Community Centre on Hardwick Square West, close to the centre of the Peak District spa town. It starts at 7.30pm and runs for an hour and a half. The meeting is open, so anyone may attend: people who want to stop drinking, people quietly weighing up whether they should, and the family members, friends and professionals around them. High towns have long winters, and a dependable Monday meeting gives the week a fixed point whatever the weather. Nobody needs to book, pay or explain themselves at the door; you can listen from the back and decide about everything else later. Wheelchair access has not been confirmed for this venue.
