Preston How It Works takes its name from Chapter 5 of the Big Book, read aloud at AA meetings around the world. The group meets every Monday at 7.30pm at Saint Lawrence's Church on Lower Lane in Longridge, at the foot of the Ribble Valley about eight miles from Preston city centre. It is a closed meeting lasting an hour and a half, for anyone with a desire to stop drinking — or anyone who suspects they should. The church is wheelchair accessible. Longridge also hosts a Cocaine Anonymous meeting at the same church on Tuesdays, giving the town twelve-step cover two nights running.
