Poplar Nadzieja (Hope) Polish Spoken

Nadzieja, meaning Hope, is a Polish-spoken Alcoholics Anonymous meeting in Poplar, held every Friday at 8pm in the Guild Hall at St Mary and St Joseph Church, with the entrance on Canton Street. The meeting lasts an hour and is conducted in Polish, giving Polish speakers in east London somewhere to talk about drinking and recovery in their first language. It is an open meeting, so family members, friends and professionals are welcome alongside anyone with a desire to stop drinking. The group operates a chit system, so attendance can be confirmed for court, probation or treatment purposes. There is no charge and no booking; simply come to the Canton Street entrance on Friday evening.
