Norton's Saturday morning AA meeting takes place at the Friends Meeting House at 49 The Green, in the old village centre of Norton on the north side of Stockton-on-Tees, starting at 10.30am and lasting an hour. It is an open meeting, so anyone may attend, whether you want to stop drinking yourself, are supporting somebody who does, or are a professional wanting to understand the fellowship. The meeting house is wheelchair accessible, and several other AA meetings use the same building during the week, so a first visit here can open up a small local network of support. There is no charge, no booking and no obligation to say a word; plenty of people just listen on their first few visits.
Can I attend even if I am not an alcoholic?
Yes. This is an open meeting, so family members, friends and professionals are welcome alongside anyone who has a desire to stop drinking.
How much does it cost?
Nothing. AA meetings are always free and need no booking; a voluntary collection may be passed round but you are not expected to give.
Is the Friends Meeting House wheelchair accessible?
Yes, the venue at 49 The Green, Norton, is listed as wheelchair accessible.
