This is a relatively new meeting, that has been started within the past 6 months.
The Out Of The Ashes group meets every Thursday evening in Omagh, gathering at The Asha Centre For Addictions on the outskirts of town. Starting at 7.30pm, the meeting runs for an hour and gives local members of Narcotics Anonymous a chance to share their experience of recovery through NA's twelve-step programme. This is a fairly new group, only established within the past six months, so it's a good opportunity to help shape something as it finds its feet. It's a members' meeting, intended for anyone with a desire to stop using drugs. If you're thinking about coming along for the first time, you'll be among people who understand what it's like to arrive nervous and unsure. Turn up a little early to settle in before things begin.
Who can attend this meeting?
This is a closed meeting, which means it's for people who have a desire to stop using drugs. If that's you, you're welcome to come along. Closed simply refers to who the meeting is for, not that the venue is shut. Open meetings, by contrast, welcome family, friends and professionals too.
Do I need to book or pay anything?
No. There's no cost to attend and no booking needed. NA groups are self-supporting through members' own voluntary contributions, so a small collection is passed round to cover costs, but you're never obliged to give anything, especially as a newcomer.
Where exactly is the meeting held?
It takes place at The Asha Centre For Addictions in Omagh, postcode BT79 0NS. As a newer group, it's still growing, so arriving a few minutes before 7.30pm will help you get settled before the meeting starts.
