As Bill Sees It is Hartlepool's Wednesday evening AA meeting, gathering at 7.15pm at the Salvation Army Church Hall on Park Road for an hour. The meeting takes its name from the AA book of the same title, a collection of short extracts from co-founder Bill W's writing, and each week a reading provides the springboard for discussion. It is an open meeting, so anyone is welcome, including family members, friends and professionals alongside people who want to stop drinking themselves. The venue offers wheelchair access. You do not need to book, pay or bring anything, and you will not be asked to speak if you would rather just listen on your first visit.
Can I attend if I am supporting someone else?
Yes. This is an open meeting, so family, friends and professionals are welcome as well as anyone who has a desire to stop drinking.
Do I need my own copy of As Bill Sees It?
No. A reading is shared at the meeting, and no prior knowledge of the book is needed to follow the discussion.
Is it free, and can wheelchair users get in?
Yes on both counts: AA meetings are always free with no booking, and the Salvation Army Church Hall on Park Road is listed as wheelchair accessible.
