Exmouth Share gathers on Wednesday evenings at Exmouth Community Church, 7-9 Market Street, from 7.30pm to 9pm. The format is sharing, with members speaking in turn about their experience of drinking and recovery; new faces are welcome to just listen. As an open meeting it accepts everyone, from people worried about their own drinking to family members, friends and professionals. The church is wheelchair accessible, and the group runs a chit system for anyone who needs a signed slip as evidence of attendance for court, probation or a treatment programme. There is no cost and no booking, and turning up a few minutes before 7.30pm is all the preparation needed.
Can I attend to support my partner or friend?
Yes. Exmouth Share is an open meeting, so family, friends and professionals are welcome alongside people who want to stop drinking.
Will I have to speak?
No. Members share in turn, but nobody new is expected to say anything. Listening is a perfectly good way to spend your first meeting.
Is the venue accessible, and can I get an attendance chit?
Yes to both. Exmouth Community Church is wheelchair accessible, and attendance slips can be signed for court, probation or treatment purposes.
