About this meeting

Chapter 5 takes its name from the chapter of the Big Book titled How It Works, which is read at the start of many AA meetings the world over. The group meets in Welwyn Garden City on Thursday evenings at 8pm at the Friends Meeting House, 109 Handside Lane, and runs for an hour and a half. It is an open meeting, which means anyone can attend: people with a desire to stop drinking, plus partners, parents, friends and professionals wanting to see what Alcoholics Anonymous is about. The Friends Meeting House is wheelchair accessible. Attendance costs nothing and there is no booking or membership process; turning up a few minutes early is all that is required.
