This meeting is focussed on young people in recovery for young people to find identification and oldtimers who came in their 20s to pass on their ESH of that period of their recovery. This is a closed group.
Hampton Young People & Young At Heart meets on Mondays at 5.30pm at Hampton Methodist Church on Percy Road, three minutes from Hampton railway station and served by the 111, 216 and R70 buses. The meeting exists so that young people in recovery can find others they identify with, and it also draws old-timers who got sober in their twenties and can pass on their experience, strength and hope from that stage of life. It is a closed group, meaning it is for people who have, or think they may have, a desire to stop drinking. The venue is wheelchair accessible, the meeting lasts an hour, and there is no cost or booking.
Do I have to be young to attend?
The focus is on young people in recovery, but the group also welcomes longer-sober members who came to AA in their twenties and share their experience of getting sober young. If drink is a worry for you, come along.
What does 'closed group' mean?
It means the meeting is reserved for people who have, or think they may have, a desire to stop drinking, rather than being open to observers. Newcomers with that desire are exactly who it is for.
Is the venue accessible and how do I get there?
Hampton Methodist Church is wheelchair accessible, about three minutes from Hampton railway station, with the 111, 216 and R70 buses nearby.
