Every Monday evening at 6pm, the London Westway group gathers at Hammersmith Quaker Meeting House on Bradmore Park Road in Hammersmith and Fulham. This is an Overeaters Anonymous literature meeting: members read from OA-approved books and share stories of experience, strength and hope. Anyone with compulsive food behaviours is welcome, and the group makes a particular point of welcoming newcomers and those returning after a relapse. If you're finding your feet with OA, this is a steady, supportive place to start. The format keeps things grounded in the fellowship's shared reading rather than open discussion, which many people find easier when they first walk in. James is the group contact if you'd like to check anything before you come along.
Who can attend this meeting?
This is a members' meeting for people with a desire to stop eating compulsively. Anyone with compulsive food behaviours is welcome, and the group especially welcomes newcomers and those returning from relapse. You don't need to have attended OA before.
Do I need to book, and is there a cost?
No booking is needed and there's no charge to attend. Just turn up on Monday at 6pm. OA runs on voluntary contributions from members, so you're free to give if you wish, but nothing is expected of newcomers.
What happens in a literature meeting?
Members read from OA-approved literature and then share around what they've read, drawing on their own experience. It's a good format if you'd rather listen and take things in during your first visits.
