This is a literature study group.
The Doran's Hill NA Group meets on Sunday evenings at Thomas Davis GFC, on Dorans Hill in Newry. Starting at 6pm and running for around an hour, this is a literature study group, so the focus is on reading and discussing Narcotics Anonymous texts together rather than open sharing alone. Working through the fellowship's literature can be a steady way to understand the programme, especially if you're newer to it and want something to hold onto week to week. This is a members' meeting, for anyone with a desire to stop using drugs. The room fills with people who've been where you are, and Sunday evening can be a settling point before the week ahead. Turn up a few minutes early if you can.
Who can attend this meeting?
This is a closed meeting, which means it's for people who have a desire to stop using drugs. If that's you, you're welcome regardless of what you've used or how long you've been at it. Meetings for family, friends or professionals would be marked as open ones instead.
Do I need to book or pay?
No. There's no booking, no fee and no need to register. Narcotics Anonymous is free and self-supporting through its own members' contributions, so a small collection may go round to cover room costs, but you're never obliged to give anything.
What is a literature study group?
It means the meeting centres on reading and discussing NA's own books and pamphlets together. It's a good format for getting to grips with the programme step by step. You don't need to bring anything or have read in advance.
