Steps - first Tuesday of each month. Open to all - third Tuesday. Topic - fourth Tuesday. Temporary Sponsorship offered.
The Freedom In Recovery group meets every Tuesday evening at the Dorford Centre, part of Dorchester Baptist Church on Bridport Road (DT1 1RR). Doors are open at 19:30 and the meeting runs for an hour and a half. This is a Narcotics Anonymous group for anyone with a desire to stop using drugs, and the format shifts through the month: the first Tuesday is a Steps meeting, the third Tuesday is open to all, and the fourth Tuesday works around a topic. Temporary sponsorship is offered, which can be a real help when you're starting out and want someone to talk things through with between meetings. Please note the venue asks that no pets are brought along.
Can I just turn up, or do I need to book?
There's no booking and no cost. NA meetings are free and run on donations from members. Just come along to the Dorford Centre for 19:30 on a Tuesday. Do leave pets at home, as the venue asks.
Who can attend this meeting?
Most Tuesdays this is a members' meeting for people with a desire to stop using drugs. The exception is the third Tuesday of the month, which is open to everyone, including family, friends and professionals who want to learn more about NA.
What happens on different Tuesdays?
The first Tuesday focuses on the Steps, the third is open to all, and the fourth is a topic meeting. Temporary sponsorship is offered too, so you can find someone to support you between meetings.
