New Beginnings is a Narcotics Anonymous meeting held every Friday evening in Glastonbury, running from 7.30pm for an hour and a half at the Methodist Church at the top of the High Street on Lambrook Street. To find the room, go through the main gates at the front of the church and follow the path round to the right, which leads to the entrance. The format alternates week to week between step reading, a Just For Today reading, a topic discussion, and an experience, strength and hope main share, so newcomers get a good feel for how NA works. Children are welcome if supervised and wearing headphones, and dogs are welcome kept on a lead. The 376 bus runs from and to Bristol.
Who can attend this meeting?
This is an open Narcotics Anonymous meeting, so anyone is welcome, including family, friends and interested professionals. The only requirement for NA membership itself is a desire to stop using drugs. There's a dedicated beginner and newcomer welcome, so first-timers won't feel out of place.
Do I need to book, and is there a cost?
No booking is needed and there's no charge to attend. Just turn up on Friday for the 7.30pm start. NA is self-supporting through members' own contributions, so a small voluntary donation may be passed round, but you're never obliged to give anything.
Can I bring my children or dog, and is the venue accessible?
Yes. Children are welcome if they're supervised and wearing headphones, and dogs are welcome as long as they're kept on a lead. The venue has wheelchair access. The 376 bus serves Glastonbury from and to Bristol.
