Venue Info: Doors Open at 7.00pm The Format of the Meeting Varies, JFT Reading or Step/ESH Chair.
Held every Thursday evening in the Main Hall of the Congregational Church on King Street, this Narcotics Anonymous meeting in Newcastle-under-Lyme runs from 7.30pm for an hour and a half. Doors open at 7.00pm, so there's time to settle in and get a cup of something before things begin. The format changes week to week: some sessions work through the Just For Today reading, others take a step, and some feature an ESH (Experience, Strength and Hope) chair from a speaker. This is a members' meeting for people who share a desire to stop using drugs. Please note this is not a space for children or pets. If it's your first time, arriving a little early makes finding the room easier.
Who can come to this meeting?
This is a closed meeting, which means it's for people who have a desire to stop using drugs. It's a members-only space rather than one open to family, friends or observers. If that describes you, you're welcome — no need to introduce yourself as anything other than a newcomer.
Do I need to book or pay anything?
No. There's no booking and no charge to attend. NA is self-supporting through members' own voluntary contributions, so a basket may be passed round, but you're never expected to give anything, especially at your first meeting.
What does the varied format mean?
Each Thursday differs. Some weeks focus on the Just For Today daily reading, others on a step from the programme, and some feature a speaker sharing their experience, strength and hope. Whatever the format, you can simply listen.
