The Tradition 5 Meeting

The Tradition 5 Meeting takes its name from Cocaine Anonymous's Fifth Tradition and is held every Tuesday at Maidstone Unitarian Church, off Market Buildings and Earl Street. It starts at 7.30pm and runs for an hour and a half. As an open meeting, family, friends and anyone interested in the fellowship can attend alongside members, and the format centres on Big Book study within a child-friendly setting. The venue has wheelchair access, and a chit system operates to mark recovery milestones. On the last Tuesday of each month, the meeting is chaired specifically around step work instead of its usual Big Book focus.
